Amidst pottery turntables and brushes

The many coastlines, the beautiful sunsets, the special light and the changing landscapes all inspire the many artists within Destination Zealand.

Skælskør is centre for a large number of ceramists, whom you can meet at the annual ceramics festival while international artists apply for Guldagergaard, an International Ceramic Research Center.

Whether you are into street or glass art, ceramics or art paintings or some other art form, huge artistic experiences are awaiting.

No matter if you are into traditional or modern art, Destination Sjælland offers it all. You can study the art pieces on Sorø Kunstmuseum, that arranges new special exhibitions three times a year, combined with the museum´s large collection of Danish and Russian art.

The artists within the area gladly open the doors to their studios which enables you to follow the process when a brick of clay, a piece of driftwood or a blank canvas turns into a new art piece.

All the artists share a willingness to talk about inspiration and the creation of their art pieces.

If you want to experience the special atmosphere, there are art events all year round. For more go to: Events and What is happening today?
